The challenge
An Arizona-based adventure tour operator wanted more online traffic and more trip bookings without raising ad spend. The agency representing them also needed clean ROAS and awareness numbers to show the client.
The approach
We built programmatic targeting around who actually books these trips: demographics like age, household income and occupation; behaviors like adventure seekers, outdoor enthusiasts, ATV and UTV fans, national park visitors and campers; specific Arizona cities and DMAs; and event-based moments like spring training and local attractions. We also monitored competitor and travel sites, from hotels to RV parks.
The results
Within the first four weeks, impressions and site traffic climbed. Across the first four months, return on ad spend reached 2,047%, incoming phone calls rose 175%, confirmed bookings grew 640%, and total revenue increased 446%, all without an increase in budget.
